Im k\u00f6niglichen Palast Korinths ger\u00e4t sie in ein Spiel aus Verleumdungen, Intrigen und L\u00fcgen. Der Kampf um die Macht steht im Mittelpunkt, und Medea soll als S\u00fcndenbock geopfert werden. Die Medea der griechischen Trag\u00f6die, die Barbarin, Giftmischerin, die rachs\u00fcchtige M\u00f6rderin \u2013 hier wird diese Frauenfigur aus dem jahrtausendealten Mythos gel\u00f6st, das \u00fcberkommene Bild revidiert.<\/p>\n<p>Dennoch geht es Christa Wolf nicht darum, wie es wirklich gewesen ist, und nur zum kleinen Teil versucht sie, \u00e4ltere, matriarchatsn\u00e4here Schichten der Mythen\u00fcberlieferung gegen\u00fcber j\u00fcngeren wieder ins Recht zu setzen. Die Frauen sind nicht Opfer m\u00e4nnlicher Lust oder Treulosigkeit, sondern aktive Subjekte ihres eigenen Begehrens.
