The story follows Mukesh, a lonely widower living in West London, who struggles with grief and worries about connecting with his granddaughter, Priya. Meanwhile, Aleisha, an anxious teenager working at the local library, discovers a mysterious reading list hidden inside a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird. Curious, she decides to read every book on the list, finding comfort and escape from her difficult home life. When Mukesh visits the library hoping to connect with his granddaughter, Aleisha shares the list with him. As they both read the books, they gradually form an unexpected friendship and bond over their shared experiences of loneliness and loss. Through the power of literature, they rediscover hope, happiness, and the importance of human connection.
