This novel … tells the story of a group of anthropomorphic farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Will the farm turn into a paradise farm? The established comandments are:
- Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
- Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
- No animal shall wear clothes.
- No animal shall sleep in a bed.
- No animal shall drink alcohol.
- No animal shall kill any other animal.
- All animals are equal.
Is it a fairy story? Is it a satire? Orwell wrote the book between November 1943 and February 1944. Is it still modern?
Let us read the novel and talk about it.
